Volvo XC90

The Volvo XC90 is a large Sport Utility Vehicle crossover that combines the handling of a passenger car with the muscular body of an off-roader.

The following Volvo XC90 is available in a range of colours including Caspian Blue, Twilight Bronze, Flamenco Red metallic, Black Stone solid, Ice White solid, Silver metallic, Black Sapphire metallic, Electric Silver metallic, Ember Black metallic, Savile Grey metallic and Passion Red solid for the R-Design.

Seven seats are standard for the Volvo XC90 in most marketplaces with five seats available as an alternative in some.

All the passenger seats can be folded to create a fully flat loading floor. The tailgate is divided into an upper and a lower section.

The Volvo XC90 is built as a passenger car with the same chassis type as that found in used Volvo sedan models. The chassis has spring struts at the front and multilink axle at the rear.

The multilink rear axle is an independent rear suspension system featuring a number of links. A long wheelbase and wide track are combined with a torsionally rigid body.

The Volvo XC90 has an all-wheel drive electronically controlled system that distributes engine power between the front and rear wheels automatically, depending on which wheel pair has the best grip.

The system is equipped with an electric gizmo which helps take-off speed and gives traction on slippery surfaces.

The Volvo XC90 has a Dynamic Stability and Traction Control system that continuously registers the car’s roll rate.

The Volvo XC90 can be specified with the D5 engine producing 200 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque.

The Volvo XC90 has driver support and safety systems including roll stability control and a roll-over protection system.

Roll Stability Control helps stabilise the car and reduces the risk of rolling over in an accident.

If a rollover accident should still occur, the roll-over protection system has a network of beams in the body structure to distribute and absorb the resulting forces. In addition, an electronic sensor activates the seat belt pre-tensioners and the inflatable curtain airbags.

The Volvo XC90 can be equipped a Park Assist Camera.

The Volvo On Call system can now be combined with the Bluetooth mobile phone service.

There is  also a mobile application that allows the driver can stay in touch with the parked car via an iPhone or Android smart phone.

The Volvo XC90’s  exterior systems distribute and absorb incoming collision forces so that the passenger compartment remains as intact and undamaged as possible. A gently rounded front and an extra beam below the front bumper help reduce the risk of injury to other road users.

Volvo Cars has developed a number of systems such as Whiplash Protection System, Side Impact Protection System and Inflatable Curtain. All are fitted as standard in the Volvo XC90.

The Inflatable Curtain has been extended in the Volvo XC 90 so that it also covers passengers in the third row of seats. All seven seats are equipped with three-point inertia-reel seat belts, belt pre-tensioners and head restraints.

The Volvo XC90 can be specified in ES, SE, SE Lux, Executive and R-Design guise.

The Executive version has a number of features such as unique 19-inch alloy wheels and an upgraded sports chassis.

The exterior features a new day running light configuration in the lower bumper. The silver metallic bumper bar as well as silver roof rails are now standard on all models.

In common with the latest generation of S60, V60 and XC60 model, the new tail lamps have dual light guides, LED brake lights and a silver turn indicator bulb.

The passenger compartment offers a three-spoke steering wheel and aluminium decor as standard. For Volvo new car info you could look online.
